Ever wished you could grow off-season produce inside of your home without digging into the floorboards?
A Boston startup called Grove is helping people do just that. Not only has Grove created a way to grow produce inside throughout the year, their product the ‘Ecosystem’ is powered by fish (the company recommends smaller fish such as guppies or female betta fish).
The concept for Grove’s fish ecosystems was created by Jamie Byron and Gabe Blanchet in an MIT dorm room. The company has raised $4 million in private funding and has recently reached its goal of $400,000 through Kickstarter. Each ecosystem retails for $4500 through the Grove website (www.grovelabs.io).
